98 Double Din

so, im just wondering if anyone has had any success fitting a double din into the din and a half deck compartment of the cavalier without any serious custom work. Obviously the bezel would need to be remade, but other than that, anyone have any luck just moving things around?

yes i have put a double din in my 99 i had to cut the bottom of the dash trim plate then i am going to fiber glass the bottom of the dash plate but havent done it yet due to working long hours and tooo tired to do it got it all worked out just have to lay some glass now it is a very tight fit there is like no room for all the wiring in the back so it sticks out a lil to make room for it or you can do like i did and cut the bottom of the back of the inside out ad then you can mount the wires under the deck the only hard part is securing it in.

pics will be cumming soon.

Go to the junk yard or eBay and buy a 2000+ Cavalier dash bezel, that will give you a head start on the whole thing. Atleast then the final outcome would look flawless.

he would need more than the bezel. he would need the lower dash, the dash bezel, and the steel frame.

You can customize the older dash, it would take some work to do. The point I was at is that once the CUTTING and remounting was finished that the Bezel would ciover it all and make it look good no matter how it looked behind the bezel.
