Hey,
Got a question. Lately since I haven't been driving my Sunfire it's an 04 I have an aftermarket alarm on it also, Randomly the Factory alarm is setting and when I drive the car the light comes on than I have to disable the factory alarm with the fob than it goes out for a few starts than comes on whether the car is parked or driving other wise the car won't start any idea's?
Thanks
Never heard of that one before? hmmm..............
Why do you have a stock and aftermarket alarm?

because it came factory with the alarm. (like alot of cavy's) and the factory alarm completely blows so he got an aftermarket one

Ok just didnt make sense to me. Not really an alarm person.
Could they both be interferring with each other?
any chance you have the make and model of the aftermarket alarm?
I'm 99% sure it is a CAR problem, it happens while he is driving, his Aftermarket alamr is not activated while he drives, also it does not false alarm. I'mleaning more towards the car has an electrical issue.
it's a DEI Python SS/T. I had my buddy who owns a shop install it and he said that he bypassed the factory alarm but it still is activating.
Python 990 SS/T I believe.
Does your system remote start too??
The reason I ask is that the only thing that needs to be bypassed on our cars is the PASSLOCK II systems for the car to strart.
The only way our Factory Alarm (Theft Deterent System) ONLY arms with the FACTORY remote! Same as Disarm.
Our cars DO NOT require a Factory alarm Disarm wire to be hooked up for a remote start to start the car, just bypass the Passlock II.
Also a Factory Alarm Disarm wire is NOT even listed for J Bodies on the Direct Techs Website.
You sir, have a Car problem. Something in the car.
See if your buddy knows where the Factory Keyless entry module is located, if he does have him unplug it and see if that helps. You shouldn't need it as long as you have an aftermarket system anyway.
Also, your factory alarm should not even be abel to be armed while driving.
1 more thing, it is usually triggered by a door pin, so the car thinks the door is opening while you are driving? Wierd as hell.
Here are the Notes on our Cars Alarm and how to bypass them.
Factory Alarm Arm - factory remote only
Factory Alarm Disarm - factory remote only
Disarm No Unlock - with ignition and Passlock
I would have my car looked at and see what it is.
