best LEVEL MATCHING songs
Thursday, February 26, 2009 10:02 PM
I'm trying to put together a really good level matching CD for tuning stereos.

This is NOT a "best bass songs" thread, there have been millions of those.
I'm talking about songs with great dynamic range.

These threads get so bogged down it just turns into a mess, so try to just add two or three songs that are REALLY good.

I'll start.

DJ Flex - Are You Ready?

We have a cd with Tones of various levels.

We use that and an O-scope.

Doing it by ear is well, good luck.

Also, they are tones at 0db, No Cut or Boost. Just flat.

If you want a good range of sound in a song, here is what I suggest...

The Sony/BMG recording of Chaikovski's(sp?) 1812 overture with real cannons.

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I want to avoid gettin off topic, but I CLEARLY said 'level matching'. I'm not talking about gain maximizing here.
