Basically im looking at an upgrade for my amp and i narrow it down to 2 that i like. the
SAE-1200D from sundown or the
AQ 1200D from AudioQ. The sundown is 350$ untill the end of march and the AudioQ is 250$. which is the better amp? the sundown does 1200 rms at 12.8 volts and the AudioQue does 1200 rms at 14.4 @ 1%thd or 1470 rms at 14.4 volts @5% THD (what does THD mean?)
If there is a better amp out there in the same price range please let me know.

Sundown is amazing. I love mine. Sounds great. Nice small package even though the one your looking at is substantially larger.
Also when i ordered mine DB-R had the SAE on sale. Not sure now.

86% at 4 ohm. But Im at one ohm. and thats not listed.
What VC configuration do you have? If you have a Dual 2 Id suggest the Sundown but if you have a Dual 4 I wouldnt because youll be diappointed with 600 watts for the price. Mine was 355 shipped. But the warranty for Sundown is nice. Its like one year limited and you get a discounted amp if yours goes out after 1 year and you have the original invoice. and its transferable so if you can find a used or refrubished one on DB-R youd be golden. And you get a sweet window decal
My single complaint with my amp is the that the bass control knob has an LED that is ungodly bright and I cant mount it where its visible when Im driving.
I'd go with sundown.

We installed an audio Q 2,000watt amp and a Audio Q 15" woofer for a guy, the box was 4cu ft and tuned to 38hz, well I was very impressed. Esp for the priced the guy paid.
so now they are doing a presale on the saz-2000. if i go to a comp will they put me in a different class if i have the 2000 than the 1200 or the 1500d?
even though im only using 1400-1500 watts of the power?

your ears aren't going to be able to hear the difference between 0.5 or 1% THD, unless you're a hardcore audiophile. the minuscule difference in power won't be noticeable either.
get whichever amp you like better. sundown is currently the biggest bandwagon brand on the internet, but AQ has more than proven itself as well.
with the small amount of power like that, I'd probably save the $100 and go AQ. but that's me.
as for being bumped into a higher class, which org are you thinking of? it's definitely something to consider if you plan on competing.

Probably cause Sundown was First in DBDrag this year.
im not sure which org im thinking of joining probly just do some local comps and see wher eit takes me. i just dont want to be in a class higher than im actually using. i want to go have fun but also try to win. not just get blown outta the water by people that are actually using all of the 2000 watts.
and as long as i can get the money together im most likely gunna get the 2000d but just want to make sure im not gunna get screwed if i decide to go to comps.
