Hey everyone...
My question is pretty basic, looking for pretty simple answers. Obviously Infiniti makes some good speakers, especially for mids and highs, and I love their Kappa Pefect subs. i'm about to pull the trigger on a huge setup, and want to know if YOU think it will sound nicely or not. Would YOU put it in your car if you had the money to spend on it. It goes something like this
(1)RKSport Fiberglass Speaker Enclosure (provisions for 4 12" and a set of 5 1/4" components)
(1) set of Q-Logic Front KickPanels
(1)Clarion NV509 7" DVD Multimedia station with build in Nav
(4) Infinity Kappa Perfect 12" VQ subs, 400 RMS...for fiberglass enclosure
(2) Infinity Perfect 6.1, 110RMS...for front doors and front kickpanels
(1) infiniti Perfect 5.1, 100RMS...for fiberglass enclsoure
(1) Infinity Kappa 693.9i , 110RMS...for back deck
(2) Alpine PDX 4.100 (100RMS to each of 8 speakers....)
(2) Alpine PDX 1.1000 (500RMS to each sub)
(2) Sets of Infiniti MMD Dome Tweeters, to be run off the head unit, in the A-pillars and the coat hangers
Everything Infiniti i've ever heard is awesome, so in my mind this set up should be really loud, as well as having great SQ, no?

Unless you have some amazing amazing imaging and delay, it's going to sound like ass. More isn't always better. I'd ixnay about half to 3/4 of the stuff on your list.

Agreed, 100% and then double.
Make sure you put a couple dozen coats of rubberized undercoating (from autoparts stores) on the inside of those q-logic boxes, the plastic they're made of rings and sounds bad with some speakers.
Why is that? I just assumed since RKSport and Q-Logic would've put in the research for the best places to put those speakers, right?

It'll look good, but like was said above, that setup would require some unbelievably advanced imaging, quite frankly u'd be better off, and not as broke, going with 2 15s, and then 1 superamp, either make, or have made, a custom fiberglass enclosure (not ridiculously expensive), ixnay 4 of those speakers and go with 2 sets of very high quality component speakers, and then go with 2 high end 2 channels to power them. Throw a cap in there, and ull have pretty much unmatchable SQ, and as far as sound level goes... my buddy has a clarion setup that is exaclty what i described and he can hit 154 dB with no structural mods to his car, so u wont have any issues.
also, try and pair up amp and sub/speaker makes if possible, it just tends to sound better because their tuned for eachother, and ull get the most out of each piece
but that just my personaly preference, if u want earthshattering 4 12" power, then by all means id love to see it

You haven't heard very many good speakers in your time, have you? Infinity is not better than anything decent in any price range any of their speakers are in.... just ew.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Just no. Just because there is a hole for a speaker doeesnt mean it belongs there. And QLogic is just prefab crap or atleast what ive seen is. I have a QLogic box in my attic and its made of particle board. Im going to say theres a big no on the research if theyre using that. Asthetically it may look nice but you will be disappointed as said above.
Im more of an SPL guy myself. So Im no going to comment much on the SQ side of this. In respect to cone area alone 4 12s will be louder than 2 15s with the same wattage due to the fact that they will push more air. But that only part of it. Just assuming something will be loud isnt always safe. I thought my system would be loud but I still want more because it disappointed me. Its all in the install on how something will sound.
The RKSport "shell" is just that, A Shell for you to mount speakers in. You would still need to build custom enclosures behind the speakers.
RKSport is Not and Audio company, why would you assume that they made it to sound good? It is for show only, unless you have a custom install performed in conjunction with it.
I've not saw in person a RKSport sub enclosure yet that was done right or sounded good.

I'm going to take this opportunity to quote this for truth. The shell is flimsy, and even with a box, doesn't sound the best at all.
Seriously, you want something crazy?
Put a Fi BTL in a 6th order bandpass box (You'd have to design/build one...)
Do a three way sound stage with a 8" mid-bass, 6.5" midrange, and silk dome tweets.
When $$ allows that is what I am doing.
Zach, are you just talking out your ass with terms you have heard on audio forums? Do you realize how much math is involved and how complicated it is to build a 6th order bandpass? Do you also realize how much custom fab work you would have to do in a J to do a good 3 way sound stage? Especially with midbass' that large. ALSO, there is a lot of work involved with doing a 3 way active set-up? I don't see how that post makes any sense man.

Phh, all you have to do is transduce the impedance dampers.
