Alternator / Battery terminal help
Sunday, March 15, 2009 5:40 AM
Ok, so last night i changed the stock terminals on my battery to gold plated extended ones with the threading to attach extras to, and the first foot/fuse holder/fuse of my 4 gauge power wire for my stereo. I fired it up to make sure everything was working right and my battery light came on and my cap's in the trunk were showing 11.24 voltage and not rising even after applying the throttle. I think this is where i screwed up; I threaded the battery adapters on with nothing between them and the battery then on the positive i put the stereo wire on first (using the extended threads on the opposite side of the terminal) then i put the alt wire on after it and i noticed it had little prongs on the terminal and did not lay 100% flush. I cant try this out because i ran out of time yesterday and im still waiting on sun rise. Should i be putting the alt terminal on touching the battery sandwiched between the gold terminal and the battery then only having the stereo wire on the AUX section?

I solved my own problem, i moved the alt wire and my caps shot to optimum voltage after hovering around 11 for 5 or 6 seconds
