What is the best/easiest way to run a power wire from the battery to the trunk while having it hidden in a 2 door, 2003 Cavalier?

under the carpet, i tried hanging it from the roof and it did not turn out to well

Run it under the carpet on the drivers side. Go through the big grommet, behind the kick panel, under the carpet or under the door sill molding (depending on what size wire you're using), then tuck it under the rear interior panel if you're using 4ga or smaller otherwise bring it up under the carpet and underneath the seat. Tucks just fine all the way up to 1/0ga without a problem and isn't noticeable.

pull up your carpet below your gas pedal, you should notice a rubber boot leading into the engine bay...run your power wire thru there..pull up your kick panels and stuff your wire below the carpet and run it under or beside your back seat (just tuck it down in) and pull it into your trunk...
