A friend of mine (seriously its a friend
) tried having their boyfriend install her stereo, well knowing nothing about them he cut the harness connecter on the car. She took it to best buy and had them install it, I told her I would look at it for her and I am wondering which color the wires would be for those, just to save myself some time. 98 cavalier 2.2 auto
Thanks!!
Yes, I warned her about best buy
which wires are you wondering about? do you mean he did it the ghetto way and didnt buy a 10 dollar aftermarket harness? do you just need to know which is power, ground, remote, speaker wires etc?
the actual cluster lights, and tail wires, he did try doing it the ghetto way, but when he realized he had more wires than he could connect they took it to best buy lol... Im assuming they connect somehow since it started happening after best buy messed with it.
probably hooked up teh dimmer wire wrong...and what you mean you warned her about Best buy?? i work at best buy and ill run circles around most installers.... not every best buy has bad installers...some of teh best work for bestbuy....

Off topic; I wish you would have worked at the Mentor OH BB as I'm out $300 plus because the installer put my cd changer in with two 1/4 inch long sheet metal screws. Not even a decent diameter screw. The changer bounced so much it fried after two years. I had had rigged it up to stay in place, but the damage had been done. In the trash it went and I'll just go with a single disc H/U when I can get one.

You DO realize that these companies guarantee their work right? If you noticed it rattling around, the FIRST thing you should have done was taken it back and explained your issue. Any install bay worth it's salt would fix it for you, and if they refused (doubtful) you've always got the BBB.
Brad is right...you could have taken it to any other best buy if you didnt want that same guy touching your car...If any one on this fourm ever goes to BB make sure to keep teh paper work they give you...BB guarantees their install for life at ANY BB. ill fix an install from cali over here in nyc as long as they have teh proof....
