Ok, i searched... Not to hard but the effort was there. Our 3gen battery trays... its welded in, but i want to remove it. I cant get the sawzall in there and cant get the cutoff wheel in without cutting it up. Thing is i want to remove itwithout wrecking it because i wanna use it to weld it in the trunk to hold the battery there so i can have more room for my intake and ic pipes. How did you remove yours? Thanks for the help.

The tray is held down by spot welds. With a 3/8" drill bit, drill through the center of each of them and it will come out. Try to only drill deep enough to go through the tray itself and not all the way through the frame rail. It may be tough to get to them all with the air cleaner, fuse box, etc. in the way. You'll probably have to pry under it a bit to break it free if you have drilled some off center.

The hardest part may be getting your ground cable unbolted from the tray.

i just did mine four days ago and i had to go to a 1/2" drill bit to get all of the spot welds out. This literally was the biggest bitch in the world to take out. Also please make sure not to go to deep with the drill because there is some wiring and the washer bottle under there.
