i got a new after market temp gauge that is in a 3 pod pillar. so i hooked up the thermometer to where the stock one is on the pipe where antifreeze is always moving. but now i noticed my car idles at 1500 rpms when stopped. can this have to do with anything to the new gauge??
yes, your car is thinking its still cold with the factory sensor disconnected. I guess its revving higher to warm its self up...... never really looked into it
I dont know about j-bodys but on my silverado it has 2 sensors 1 for the engine computer and 1 for the gauge. if you are going to replace it dont replace the engine sensor.
