I baught a set of H.I.D. lights(the kit) and i read up on why they flicker, about them not having enough voltage. So i go buy a high output alternator that says it puts out 200 amps. after i get it installed i notice a different kind of noise and now my HIDs flicker even while idling, and before they only flickered when my bass would rop from my system. so im thinking maybe bad alternator, or HIDs giving out, and if ido the BIG 3 will this help? alos the guy i baught it from says that it always made that noise, all i know is it by Iraggi andj you can here a constant noise that was not there before.

High output alternators actually put out less amps at idle than stock alternators, so until you rev the engine you've actually made it worse.
Big 3 will help, and go back to your OEM alternator or buy one that is wound to give more amps at idle.
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
wow, that sucks here i am thinking i upgraded when i really made it worse, i see why he was selling it for $100, that is crazy why would some ne want more power at reving, its at idel when you need it, atleast for stereo

not all of them, poorly made ones yes. Mine will do 165a at idle and 308 at 1400rpm
how much you paid for yours?

also. did you buy a Relay harness. that may actually be your big problem. the stock harness doesnt let enough amperage through to run the HID,s. if not. ill look one up for you. i think there around 50 bucks unless your good at wiring. then you can make one yourself
that would be great i will buy one, i preciate that..i took out my harness to just get rid of the drl for now, but the service light came on so i think im going to put ot back in

I paid around 500ish for my 250 amp with adjustable voltage regulator.
wow that is a bit much for me, maybe when i get back from deployment i can began to spend money like that..right now its just little things to help

seems about right, mine was close to $400 retail and i think the external regulator sells for about $100
a relay harness should be all you need. it will take power from the battery to power the lights, instead of through the factory wiring.
Hit me up if you need one. I have a good deal on them in the GP forum.
