Sub/Amp/Wiring Question (Not for a Cav)

Hey guys, I have a question, and it's not going into my cav, but hoping some audio gurus can help me out here.

So my Cav had 2 12' Infinity Subs, that I believe were ~300RMS a piece. And powered by a 611A Infinity Amp, was an ok setup for what I paid.

I'm in the process of selling my cav, and getting an 07-08 loaded Chev Avalanche.

So here's where my headaches come in, I want to get one with all the upgraded stereo schtuff, DVD/Nav etc, and really do not want to replace a perfectly good factory nav unit that integrates with the rear DVD player.

I'd like to add 2 12' Alpine Type R subs, and use a midgate box--but should I get them in 2 ohm, or 4ohm coils? And what amp would work for this application? Can I split the power supply to like the rear speakers or something, and send it to the amp at speaker level inputs and also have the wires still go to the rear speakers? Are there any amps out there that are powerful enough for the Alpine Type Rs and still even has speaker level inputs? And further, is there anything I can do to turn a speaker level input to an RCA style setup, and not fry the amp?

Basically I'm looking for a reccomendation on an amp I should run for this kind of setup. I really want to keep the stock HU, just because I want everything to look nice and clean and untouched and unmolested and keep all my dvd and nav features intact. My cav the HU was the biggest POS in the world so I didn't care about losing it.

Plus there's just so much wiring in these newer vehicles and it's my DD so I don't want to screw with it too much.

Any advice would be appreciated I'm hoping the Type Rs are a nice big step up over my infinitys!

There will always be someone faster than you, but thousands slower and dumber than you.

You dont need speaker level inputs you need a signal convertor.

Something similar to this.

You wire the speaker level to one side and plug your RCA cable to the other side then to amp.

My favourite is the TRUNK-LOC from http://www.pac-audio.com.

It does line conversion AND provides a remote signal.
