any info on memphis pr 12" sub, they hit well? would you trade if you a had 1 10w7?

haha. you guys are funny. try using the brand first. dont go based on price. i had 2 of them in a 4 cube box tuned to 34 hz and it got @!#$ loud with only 500 watts to them (your probably thinking "hees never heard loud if he thinks the memphis were loud" but your wrong. they got loud enough to flex the tops of the doors out and brake the seal for the windshield that i had to have fixed. there exelent subs for the price. at one point RIGHT before i sold my old car i had 4 of them and was going to do a mini wall in the sedan. but the tranny went out before i got a chance to get to it and i didnt want to do a big audio setup in the new car so they all got sold along with bothe amps and all wiring) so. my conclusion. its all in the setup and no all in the sub. but trading one Memphis PR for a JL10W7 is just plain stupid. give the JL the box and power it craves and itl defineatly beat out a single PR
my buddy has 8 of the pr 15's in his van. they are nice for the money... i might actually buy 4 from him tuesday for the cavalier .
Memphis takes power well from what Ive heard. Ive discussed different setups with a guy at a local shop that sells Memphis Alpine JL Audio etc. He sais they take power a hundred or so over RMS but thats froma dealer so idk fo sho.
I do like my Memphis PR Coaxial speakers though.

i gave my 2-12's about 500RMS per sub and they took it like a champ. but that was only for a couple hours. and it was @!#$ insane. they were SOO much louder. but i dont know how they would take it on a daily basis

theres not reason to because ours isnt a hatchback so there would be no horn effect. i have no clue how it owuld react in a trunked car. but i would think you would get some mega flex on the trunk that way!

Um yes everything here SHOULD be based on price. He was asking about trading a $400 sub for a pair of $60 subs. Price is THE main point. Who cares how loud your PR's got? He is asking about trading away an absolutely amazing SQ sub for entry level subs that "can get loud". Totally different applications, AND way too huge of a value difference to make the trade even a little bit considerable.
