Umm..? What?

That's the alternator charging the battery... what is that little crap box? Tiny wires like that aren't going to do squat.

Oh, it makes it at a higher voltage. Isn't that a little high? I run my external one at 15 volt.

Re: homemade voltage module

yea its going to be 15.1

Anything more than that is going to cook the batteries. And possible magic smoke from other places.

i know my amps take up to 19v with no mods, but im not running a 16v system. dont know how the rest of the car would like it

Your batteries will most likely start crying first. Highest I'll go is around 15.3. And it's not effective for me right now to run 2 alternators and a 2nd set of 16 volt batteries and yeada yeada.

how did you make it?

Interesting. Do explain how.

I might share but for now im still doing some testing. i now have it running at 15.2v cold 15.05 hot.

So my cars electronics wont mind running at 15.2v?

So, it just changes the voltage the regulator is set at. That explains the piddly little wires

Probably not. Your bulbs will probably burn out a little quicker though. I run mine usually at 14.9 volts.

Hmmm how much do you actually gain from bumping the voltage up?

None if your amps have a regulated power supply. A good bit if they don't.

look for sundown 1500 testing on 16v i think they got almost 2600w out of one

so you got instructions on how to make our own module? also does anyone know if my orion 2500d has a regulated power supply?

Look it up. See what its operating voltage is.

Also cant find specs on an SAZ-1000D running at 16v. But itll take 16v. If its increases are like the other amps, Im very intrigued by this.

they will run on up to 16v. and yes you get more power. now the saz 1500, 3000 and 3500 ive seen them run (in person) on up to 19v

he has 8 3000d's on 18 (almost 19) and each pair is putting out 11-12 kw. not bad for a couple 3kw amps

But wouldnt 18v be a wee bit hard on the cars electronics. Or is he running a second 18v system for the subs and the stock for the rest of the electrical?

he has a step down "box" while the audio system is running at 19v the rest of the truck is at about 12.6

Interesting. So will you devulge the designs or am i gonna have to find out how to do this on my own?
