i own a 99 cavalier . and i moved speakers and a head unit to my cavalier from my old car and im having a problem with the radio now.. after turning ip the volume more then halfway im getting static then after a little while the radio will shut it self off.. the radio and speakers were fine when i had them in my last car.. im not sure what the problem was... at first i thought that my alternator was to blame since it was not running as well as it should have been so i picked up a brand new one but the problem is still there... any ideas or sugestions would be great.. thanks

check your connections. make sure they all are connected securely.

If i were to guess it would be that the speaker wires + - are touching each other. could put the cd player into a protect mode and shut off.

okay ill have to check and get back tomorrow... i replaced the stock market with aftermarket wiring so it is a possibility i didnt secure something correctly... thanks
