hey guys. haven't been on here in a long time....(cav got replaced by a s10) and i did a quick search but found nothing really. so i wanted to know if my cav's factory head unit would work in my new s10. the cave was a 2001 and the s10 is a 96 any help would be great. thanx guys
nevermind guys i just remembered that the headunit would need to be unlocked and if i remember correctly you cant do that on a different vehicle platform....
no ... because the s10 is a 1.5 din and the 2001 cavalier is a double din..
Aside from that... the 2000+ J-body radios are all Class 2... so there is no switched power. You would need the BCM to control the radio as well... and that requires swapping the whole 2000+ J-body electrical system. Not worth it for a POS stock deck. You can buy a nice aftermarket deck for waaaaaay cheaper than all that work.
