ok Teach me some stuff i don't car what it is but i have put a head unit in be4 and put amps and subs in a car also so ok for a first question tell me this
for a cheap but good sound with 12's and admount of bass i would need what??
I know a good headunit is key with 2 RCA jacks in the back
so do i need a better alternator, battery,a cap thing? IDK ive been and ran a
1,000 watt legacy amp with 2 10'' pyles be4 just routing the wires and the amp and hooking it up the subs
so please help me learn some more and please explane how to do and what stuff is
thank you
Let me learn you about Legacy and Pyle. Junk. If you want a good but inexpensive 12, Lanzar Max. A good head unit can and will make or break a system. You don't need a cap. You need the big 3. How big or small do you want to go, that should be the next question. A good front stage is also key.
Cheap but good, I'll always recommend Elemental Designs, Lanzar is good and so are the JL W0's
What's your price range?
What kind/quality of box do you have?
What kind of deck?
elemental designs and quality in the same sentence? lol

Yeah yeah, everyone knows you have a vendetta against eD. But the fact is, I know tons and tons of people on this forum and others who have never had a problem with eD's stuff. You bought two subs from them that used a bad batch of glue so now they're a terrible company forever?
I work at an Alpine dealer and I've seen far more Alpine products fail than I've ever heard of in terms of eD. And no one is going to say that Alpine isn't quality.
I have
Alpine Type S components in the front, Sound great for the price. and
Pioneer cheapies in the rear with grills from
another set (from the 2000 Z).
Definitely need a new
head unit.
I kinda want
this one.
Any input on what to do for great sound without subs?

i used to have an old sony HU and i recently picked up a kenwood exceleron HU and it made a huge difference in sound quailty, i would reccomend that HU personally.
I'm looking at an excelon, editing while you posted. Good for the price?
Sorry to threadjack, Just curious...
Justin id honeslty tell you nothing makes for better experience than straight hands-on and ironically, failures. Just start tinkering with stuff yourself and use some common sense and youll be surprised how fast and much you learn.
Id have to agree with Wildcard on the Excelon HU's. I spent about 250 on a fully motorized Excelon years ago and other than the faceplater binding after a year, it was the best hu ive had. the sound was clear, and the sub controls were pretty decent too
144db@38hz! It hurts so good !
Actually Stephen's issue couldn't have come without abuse That is quite apparent.... He hates eD because HE destroyed the eD subs he had and wants them to bend over backwards for him...
ANYWAY, give a price range, general idea of what kind of sound you are looking for, and also just for @!#$s and giggles, where you from? I am always down for doing installs and helping out local guys.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

OK ok well i have played around and learned little things here and there mainly just wan to learn more about like how to tune subs/amp combo kinda things what makes best power how to figure out what kinda ohms 1,2,4,8 to go for with the kinda music i listen to. I Listen to everykinda music there is except that screamming stuff aways i was looking for around like $500 or so. not much more i'm looking for a good thump like i wanna fell it in my chest with the windows down on the Hwy about 100mph that kinda thump i guess something that you can turn up and really jam out to. Oh and i'm in Kansas city i don't like kicker so please just reframe from saying anything about them. I have heard nothing but good outta fosgate/cerwin vega subs.
thanks for your guys's input and help
OH ya and i have alpine Type-R 6x9's in the back and will be putting 5 1/4's or 6.5's up fron't also.
