so, i decided that i need some better mids and highs, so im wondering what all u guys who want great sound, not just loud, go with as far as rear deck, door speakers and tweeters, plus of course the amp for all of em. My budget isnt tight, im lookin for like, 200ish for each set of speakers, and i can go as high as 600 for the amps, im just curious what the best options would be for good sound
What are you running for subs?
Put aside a bit more money for your fronts. Check out the Alpine Type-X PRO speakers or JL ZX series components.
Both good recommendations, but in that price range I would put most of the money into just some high quality front components and a decent amp to run them. forget dropping big money on rears..
My personal recommendation with a fairly flexible budget Rainbow. They make absolutely amazing speakers. If you give a good price range for your speakers, I can talk to my Rainbow sales rep and see what is available. I promise you wont be disappointed in them

I know im goin to catch flak for this but wth right? Dan I have an 05 Cavy Coupe and i went with a pair of pioneer tweeters in dash( one on the left downside slope above steering wheel and the other above my passenger vent) STOCK door speakers, and a pair of Rockford 6x9's in the read deck with an alpine deh9800(?) hu. I set my hu to kill the bass to the components and turned the treable up slightly and i think it sounds amazing. Now my mids and highs dont get drowned out by the subs. You can also hear the vocals outside the car damn clearly and it doent really distort too much

Running a high pass filter on a deck ("cutting the bass") is always a good idea when you have a sub stage to cover the bass range. It let's you put a ton more clean power into the speakers before damaging 'em.
If you had imaging set a little better, ok a lot better, it would sound night and day. I bet there's an ever so slight delay from the tweeters and the door speakers.
ive got 2 exile pro 12" subs with a matching amp, but im very shortly investing in a single JBL GTI MK2 15", with matching amp of course, and my head unit will be a $350 alpine, not sure the exact model
o, and i cant put out any money right now, but in a couple weeks is when i intend to do it, and id honestly love if u could see what kinda price u could get for me from that rainbow rep, if i was goin with just fronts id be in at around 700 ish for the setup, maybe 800 i could squeeze out, not sure tho
outside of that, if anyone has any alpine or pioneer recommendations, i can get them for cost from futuershop, but im not sure on them, ive had mixed reviews in the real high end audio world
Let me know what's available to you (Futureshop only carries the bottom end Alpine) and I'll tell you all I know. Pioneer, Alpine, JVC and Sony are my forté.
The new Alpine's definitely are not bad at all for head units. I always liked them. From my 9830 to my 9831 to my 7949, every Alpine I have used I have loved. Definitely look into them. I will talk to Don and see about pricing on some nice 2-way Rainbow's. I think a simple 2-way component set and amp for them would suit your needs fine for the front stage.

Make a suggestion?
2 sets of Optidrive components and an Opti 2 channel amp. Opti 1532D and Opti2000d.
I dont really notice any delay but its all good. Guess thats the nice thing about car audio. Waht sounds like hell to one might sound a,azing to another lol

Once you hear something that sounds right, you'll @!#$ bricks.
Will do. Any particular line? I HATE calling Don and asking for general prices lol. The less I bug him, the happier he is when I actually get him orders

Haha, reference.
That'll be $15000 please.
anything that alpine, mtx or pioneer sells i can get in, i can order direct through the store. And as far as lines for rainbow, i dot have the slightest idea, like i said, the best i can get for that price is kinda what id be lookin for, and i DO have a mtx tc4004 4 channel, where does that stand up as a speaker amp, im just curious, cuz ive been told by friends its pretty good, but my friends have been known to be wrong lol
that amp bridged to some components would sound great. Will be plenty of power for most. I messaged Don and haven't gotten a reply yet. If I don't get one by tonight I will give him a call.

If you're on a $100 budget for components, then I'd say Cadence CWM-6KIT. I have these and with 70w rms going to each door, they get nice and loud with proper imaging.
Now, you have more so look into a higher end CDT or even Image Dynamics component set.
www.woofersetc.com is where I go to find stuff although it isn't always the lowest price.
that sites incredible! k so, after checking that site out, what kinda results would i get if i ran front components and a pair of 120rms midbasses off that amp, is that too much for it to handle? the rms's match up pretty much perfect, with about 100 to each speaker and room to play with on the max end of things, but im curious what u guys with more experience think about it
