Rear speaker problem
Tuesday, June 23, 2009 5:09 PM
my brothers stock rear 6x9's took a crap on him yesterday so he bought an aftermarket set today. After alot of bad mouthing and disassembling we got his stock ones out and i wired up and installed the new ones. He has a Panasonic HU with 5.25 Xplods in the front door. When we turned on his car for a test run, amaizingly, the new 6x9's are working but its REALLY muffled and they are gettin some bass and thats listening to a cd. When he turns the radio on, the speakers work perfectly fine. Any ideas what the problem could be? Im thinkin its the hu but im not sure. Oh and if it helps, our youngest brother moved his car yesterday and cranked up the hu to 35 and the whole system is tuned for no higher than 25.(that was why the speakers blew in the first place). Any input would be helpful.

More info would be nice.

So the speakers are only playing bass? Is that right?

Is this a sunfire, with a monsoon system? If so, there are 4 speaker wires, two for bass, two for treble. To solve the problem, you're going to need to bypass the monsoon amp.
