Ok, here's the poop.. my 93 has a plain AM/FM radio, and I'd like to have the option of playing CD's. This is a winter beater I just fixed up a little (see the $50 paint job thread in exterior). I know the 93's had a cassette as an option, but I haven't found a CD player.
I'd prefer junkyard type options since this car isn't anything but a toy. Too big of a stereo and the rest of my rust will fall out!!
So what I'm looking for is a plug in replacement, or something with minimal modifications. I don't want the radio being worth more than the car!!
Suggestions?
Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.
check out some beretta stereo's? I know the 96Z had a cd player option. Some older buicks may have them too. Junkyards always yank the good stereos though. I was lucky to find a working am/fm cassette in a 93, for my 86.
just find a cheap 10 dollar head unit at a pawn shop... then get the second gen mounting harness (which is really easy to install) and get the wiring harness adaptor, which you just splice the colors in ...
i'm not sure if other OEMS are going to bolt up
