ok so i found the link for the wiring diagram for 2000+ jbodys

orange - power ,black- ground ,pink is radio on ,purple - gain control
LF- tan + grey -
RF- Lt. green + Dk green -
LR- brown+ yellow-
RR Dk blue+ Lt blue -

and im using the wiring diagram with the new head unit. but i have the purple gain control and an extra black wire that goes to nothing, wanting to get this head unit put in. but i plugged everything up and no power to the headunit

any help? im good with mechanical stuff, electronics is another story

You're not using a wire harness? It's ridiculously simple with one of those.

pink is not power on. it wont work. just take your red wire on your new HU and hook it to a keyed ignition source. most people use the windshield wiper circuit

I sent him the info last night. I think he's uber confused.
