Radio only works in 'on' or 'acc'

To start things off, this is a very informative site that I've used a lot since I got my 2002 cavy. Finally joined when I was unable to find help with this problem. Don't know if this is the right forum to post this, but maybe someone here can help.

I am slowly upgrading the audio in my car. hu was the first thing replaced and has been working fine until lately. I am using the scosche interface adapter and harness part gm2000 for RAP. The problem started a few days ago when the hu would not power on if I started the engine. Was random at first where I could just turn the car off and back on and it would work. Now it doesn't work at all. Still works in the 'acc' or 'on' positions though. Just once I start the car, the interface adapter beeps 4 times and the hu goes off. Swapped out hu's and got the same thing. Thought maybe it was a faulty adapter so I went and replaced it. Same thing. Checked ground and that looks good too. Not sure what would cause this and couldn't find anything elsewhere. Let me know if you need more info, I know there are things I must have left out...Thanks

Grab a DMM and check the voltage at the + and - at the module itself.

I believe it is the scosche interface. Mine does the same thing sometimes and i wondered what it was. Sometimes when i start the car the radio will not come on. Turn it off, wait for a few seconds and start it again and it works. I might go ahead and replace mine and see if it stops the problem.

most likely its teh interface, how bad do you wanna keep RAP and door chimes? you can always run a fused wire from teh ignition harness straight to teh HU but then you wont have door chimes or RAP..

Alright checked all voltages and it seemed like my battery was shot. Voltage would drop to 10.8 or so even if only the dome light was on....replaced the battery today and so far it seems like everything is fine. Will see how things go in the coming days. Thanks you guys for the input...heh, kind of embarrassing to be such an easy fix

Glad ya figured it out, i might need to get my alternator and battery tested to see if it's that simple a fix for me.
