so if my radio is from an 01, I have to do the steps to get the code, then I have to take that code to some place that can program it and get that code programmed into the new vehicle? Thanks
Im not really too sure how it all works but im pretty sure you dont have to take the radio anywhere. once its unlocked its unlocked.

There is no code on 2000+ radios... the BCM is programmed to match the radio by a GM dealership's Tech 2 diagnostic tool. There is no "code" like the older radios where you can program a Theftlock code.
