I had myself an idea today. Get myself another set of leads for my DMM and solder a power plug onto where the probes should be and plug that into the cig lighter so I can test voltage while driving or whatever easier. My question. Am I going to get an accurate reading of the voltage my amp is getting or does the voltage vary that much between the two?
I'd make some kind of hookup at the amp itself.
Thats what I figured. Ill try working something out.
get a distro block and tie into that with the meter.

I dont really have anywhere to mount one. I dont want to drill holes.

I'm not sure what your budget might be like but I have seen volt meters that plug into the cig outlet. I remember there was one from Nordskog which is reasonable if you don't want the inside to look like swiss chese.
Check this to see what I mean:

I've got my autometer digital voltmeter ontop of my column in a pod I made...could go that route?
I wasnt meaning to have it mounted permanently. Just as an easy way to test my voltage drops and such. Its kind of a bitch to do now. Ill look into a digital voltage gauge and probably go that route since im going to have to run wire from the rear of the car anyways.
Little double sided tape or velcro?
