any of you guys wire your radar's up like this? i hate having mine plugged into the cig lighter such a bad and messy look, before i cut the end off i wanted to make sure i had the wiring in my head right... insert joke

as long as its the standard plug in with no aux wire i should be fine, but im not sure if it has an aux wire or not and if so what to do with it lol any help welcome, thanks

make sure your radar detector runs on 12v and the "plug" does not step the voltage down

I just cut the plug off the end of the wire, then ran the wire down the defroster vent across to the fuse box. Inside the fuse box I found a fuse that turns on/off with the car, put the positive wire in with the fuse, then grounded it to a bolt in the fuse panel.

Radar now comes on/off with a switch of the key. No problem at all.

x2

If it does you can wire in a new lighter socket and just have that hidden behind paneling. If not, your picture should work fine. Just make sure you get the positive and negative right.
