eletric whine from engine

Just wondering if anyone can help me out i have a eletrical whine from the engine when the heat or ac is on.. i think it just may be the alt pullt going or the alt itsself any input would be great thx

Did you open the hood and listen for where the noise is coming from?

well it doesnt happen when its idling only when driving, and sounds like the front of the engine... the whine seems to go with the rpm

Is your radio on? Are you running an aftermarket amp? Grounding the RCAs doesn't always fix that.

WRONG.

That won't always fix alt. whine, and most times that isn't how to fix it at all... Nice try at acting like a know it all though!


Anyway, if you are talking about alternator whine through the speakers, those links will help. Are you saying, though, it is a whine from inside the engine bay when the RPM's are above idle?

doesnt even sound like hes talking about the stereo. it sounds like its the belt slipping, he turns the ac on and the belt starts slipping making a whining sound. from the engine bay.
