Correct me if I am wrong on my 2000 cavalier Z24, but when you open the door (driver's side) the door pin switch that is on the door jamb controls the stock radio, turning it on and off correct? My question is-- does it not also have something to do with the factory alarm? Does anyone know if these can be replaced? Mine use to be "hit or miss", but it quit working and I really want to have the factory alarm because of my aftermarket stereo. Any help would be appreciated.
Just get one from a junkyard.
Do you know if there is a specific set of years to get one? Or does it HAVE to be a 2000 Chevy Cavlier Z24?
The junk yards here dont exactly have the most "knowledgeable" people working for them. Most of them
remind me of the "Carnival" or "Fair" type people....AKA...Joe Dirt.
They're like 7 bucks each or something new.
Your car may do 13 sec @ 103 mph, but my car does 146db @ 35 hz.
7 Bucks???
At my local chevy dealer, I had the person walk out to my car, I showed him what it was that I needed, we went back inside and he looked at his inventory.
He did not have one but he could get me one for $85.00/plus tax.
I never thought to call another dealership because I figured that each would be pretty much the same.
I guess I will try that now. Apparently this employee was nuts!
Thanks for the help everyone.
