Antenna Repair?
Friday, October 02, 2009 7:40 PM
Someone put an aftermarket head unit in my '96 which I'm changing. When I took it out I saw they jammed the radio in there without an adapter and broke the pin off the end of the antenna cable. It worked ok but fell apart when i removed it. What can do to get it working right again? Is there a way to just change the terminal on the end of the antenna cable? Thanks!

Try radio shack,I'm sure they have something.

I stopped there tonight on my way home. The guy there said they didn't have anything like that. I looked around anyway but I didn't see anything...

Buy an antenna adapter at walmart or something. Cut it in half, strip away 2" from the outside sheathing and then strip away 1" from the inner insulation (it's usually white)

Do the same to the antenna in the car. Solder the single strand of copper in the middle of the antenna wire to the same on in the antenna adapter.
