I currently have a Cyclone CA798 Amp powering 2 MTX Thunder4500 12" Subs...

2x500 watts max@ 4 ohms
2x750 watts max @ 2ohms
1x1500 watts max bridged @ 4 ohms
pwm mosfet power supply
gold plated rca inputs and terminals
soft turn-on circuit
overload/thermal/short circuit protection
power on and protection LED indicator
THD[at rated power] greater than 0.1%
signal noise ratio 90db
frequency response 20-45 khz
subwoofer frequency adjustable 40hs-250hz

...A buddy of mine suggested 2 Ample Audio EXONIC EXS12X Subs...

12" Extreme DVC Subwoofer
1000 Watts MAX Power
500 Watts RMS Power
20 -500 Hz Frquency Response
93dB SPL @ 1W/1m
Dual 2ohm Voice Coil
2-1/2" 4 Layer Coil
Non-Glazed Paper Cone
Flat Progressive Spider
Woven-in flat leadwire

...I'm a newb when it comes to amps and anything beyond wiring speakers in so I was hoping someone could tell me if those would be a good choice or maybe suggest some more.

Or would I be better served to take the deal I can get on a 500w RMS Memphis Audio Amp and 2 MA PR 10" Subs?

Your car may do 13 sec @ 103 mph, but my car does 146db @ 35 hz.

It's a Memphis Audio Power Reference 1.500 with (2) Memphis Audio Power Reference 10"s for $300.

I was hoping my current amp could handle some better subs or maybe I should take that deal and find a box.
