Ok, so I apologize if this has gone through before but I couldn't find anything when I searched.

I've got a 99 cavalier that doesn't have a security system installed. I purchased a remote start/keyless entry unit off of ebay today. Now that I'm expecting it and all, I've been doing reading on actually putting it in. I didn't think that 99 was a year that they put Passlock systems but from what I've read on here, it is.

So here's my question:

-Even if I there has never been a security system installed, will my car have a passlock system in it?

-If so, do I need to get a bypass module (and which one) to install my remote start?
