hey guys...was just wondering if anyone has done a door build..i was thinking of putting 3 sets of jbl 6.5s in each door....has it been done before if so any pics?
I assume your talking about the inside panel thing, if so, yes I have done a little bit of fiberglass work on my (lumina APV's) door panel, sorry no pics at the moment. but I can't see it bieng too hard, there are a lot of custom door panels that have been done, just google image search, or almost any car show. easiest thing to do (what i did) is just use the existing door panel and re-shape it to whatever you need it. (cutting holes where you want speaker, build up supports for thicker speakers using foam, smooth it with putty, and then harden it with fiberglass)
just my suggestion.
your post makes me wanna punch babies.
thanks for the input....do you think its ok to use different speakers....1x jbl p650c and 2x jbl gto628
could just be the google pictures, but the p650c look a bit thick, check how much space you have to play with, and remeber that you will want some breathing room in front and behind the speaker.. and since there are 3 speakers in the one door, you might want to look at a sound hole as well. plan everything out on paper, then double check all your measurement to make absolutely sure that it will fit, then.. go for it : )
(and if you want to be on the safe side, I'd wait for some other replies from people with more experience then me)
cheers! and best of luck.
if I get bored tonight, I might draw up some options for ya... but don't count on it cuz I'm lazy
