Question:
I bought a tachometer from Glowshift, and it has four colored wires, an red, green, black, and yellow. I assumed the black was for ground, but I needed to know where the other wires went too.
Also, if anyone knows where I can find a wiring diagram for the actual gauge cluster itself would be nice. Thanks again.
EDIT:
Oh and my cav is a 01 2200. If anyone needed to know, thanks

I'm not going anywhere just yet

red - IGN +12v
yellow - headlight switch (lights up the gauge when you turn your headlights on)
green - signal wire. now for this one, chances are you'll need a tach driver, unless the gauge can be set to read 2 cyl. otherwise, summit racing sells the msd DIS tach adapter.

ok thank you.

how about for an 03 cavy
i have an autometer tach i know its got settings for v8, 6,and 4
do the ecotecs also run on 2
for an 03 i would just get a new cluster, as it's plug and play.

Either find a 00-05 Cav or Fire cluster or find an Autometer 9117 Tach Adapter to use with that tach
my cluster dose have an rpm gauge on it i was just planing on trying to make a custom cluster. i have all autometer gauges speed, rpm, gas, water, oil, boost, wideband, oil, i have alot of them and wanted to do something custom
if i have the rpm gauge on my car and wanted to put an aftermarket one on can i use the wire that the stock one runs off of?
stock signal for the gauges is serial data if im not mistaken, so no.
