I dont know why. I get more midbass out of my coaxials in the doors than the components in the kicks. Im not sure what to do. These things are floppy and I assume thats part of it. Might try stiffening them with some FG or some sound deadener. I think I have like 1 sheet of Dynamat in my basement. Might try some Poly Fill type stuff. Anyone else have any ides?
More room in the doors = more air movement... makes sense to me.
Are you just running the kicks, or doors + kicks? I gained some with putting them in kicks also.
Your car may do 13 sec @ 103 mph, but my car does 146db @ 35 hz.
Just the kicks right now. I didnt have the money to get another 20 ft of speaker wire.
what kind of pods are they in? your sayig there flimsy so im going to guess unreinforced q-forms maybe. which means possibly the back waves of the speaker are getting thru to the front waves of the speaker and cancelling each other out. if they are some type of pod that is sealed up id imagine they are way to small and cancelling yoru midbass.

Theyre Qforms or Qlogics not sure. I wired the right speaker out of phase. Stupid me. The midbass is up a little bit. But still not was I was expecting and still not the same as the doors speakers. So I should stiffen them up with FG or weight deaden them or something to weigh them down?
I would do everything you can to stiffen and seal them as best as you can.

Don't seal them, most speakers are an infinite baffle and they'll sound like crap.

I wasnt going to seal them. Everyone on SMD thought I had them sealed and said that was my problem. But nay they are not.
interesting...
ive always wanted a set of the kick panel pods. seem kinda lame now.
do you not have the ones in the doors still?? if so wouldnt you technically be getting more mid-bass than before since you now have four drivers instead of just two?

The imaging is a lot better. The music comes together better rather than just being there. im hooking the ones in the doors back up tomorrow. So we'll see tomorrow.
My mid-bass is killer with the pair up front. It really rocks it out.

I know the doors will hurt the imaging. Ill try getting them tighter tonight but I dont really have anything to stiffen them up with yet but Ill get to it.
dont you have to make sure and get a driver that is meant for an enclosed space that small if you are going to seal is up tight??
sorry if that is a dumb question
bare with me guys, i am new to this whole 'imaging' thing.

Somewhat. As stated before, most mids in component sets are made to be run IB. This basically means in too small of an enclosure you may end up hurting their performance. BUT, at the same time, IB means infinite baffle, not free air. This means there IS a barrier between the front and rear of the speaker. You don't want those waves meshing on their way to your ears. This is one reason that closing as many access holes when dampening a door helps mid-bass so much. The kick panel pod is such a tough compromise here, but I think making sure it's sealed as good as it can be would be the most important decision.

Kick panels will usually do that. They are thin and cheaply made and they don't fit well. Yes reinforcing it with Glass will help. As far as making them fit right check out this post. You wanna see post #5 and #7. The kick panels in that Olds sounded fantastic, but it did take a little work.
