Pioneer AVIC-F700BT

I just picked up a Pioneer AVIC-F700BT. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/In-Dash/GPS-Navigation-Systems/AVIC-F700BT

What dash kit and wiring harness will I need for the install? Anyone have pics of how much to cut out in the back if the dash to make it fit? Anything else I should know before I start the install? I already have a JVC deck installed I put in last year, so I know all about not having the door/lights chimes, and the other BS the stores try and feed you lol. Does the dimmer wire work with our cars?

I just want to make sure Im covered before I start stripping my dash...

It depends on the year. 2000+ used a double din. So it wouldnt fit in your car Anton. Nor will it fit in mine. Which is upsetting becasue Ive always liked those things.

You have to tap into the dash lighting wires or something like that since our cars dont have illumination wired into the harness (or atleast mine didnt).

I think all you have to cut out is the metal brace back there but Ive never messed with it.

So back to the original question, What dash kit and wiring harness will I need for the install?

Bestbuy and 2 other local shops told me I can't install a double din in my car, then refused to help me after I told them they are morons.

I wish I had part #'s to help you. IIRC, the 2000 silverado dash kit should work, as it has a double din option included. The Scosche kit is what I'm thinking of. It has the bolt mounting holes that are identical to the Cav's. They usually come with the 2 options, the regular single din option which you will throw away, and a double din. It may take some dremel work to smooth out because it's not a 100% fit, but it it works.

The wiring harness would be the same as usual, either the one from a 2000 Geo Tracker, and you run an accessory wire from the fuse box/accessory (orange) wire in the column, or the big bulky GM-09 that will give you the chimes back.

i have a pioneer avic-d3 cd/dvd/navi its a double din all i had to do was cut/dremel the back part of the radio area. Mainly to get all of the wires to be out of the way of the radio. i did not need a dash kit as it took up the entire din area. i took the stock radio brackets and put the on the unit and had to screw those into the dash as they did not match back up with the orignal place. as far as the harness goes eith get the tee harness to keep your chimes and all or the other harness and tap into a power wire. i tapped mine into the power wire in the ignition area so when i turn the key the unit comes one and turns off when i turn the car off. i have heard others put in a switch to turn there radio on and off.

I no longer have the stock brackets, I tossed them out when I got the deck I have in the car. I have heard the GM-422DD double din dash kit is the one I need, but no place seems to have anything near that part number.

Im guessing the Geo Tracker harness or the scosche gm05b is going to work fine?
