First off, I want to say that I have searched the forum before I posted this. I found a few things, but they seemed only marginally helpful. Now, the problem I am having started happening a few weeks ago. I have a 98 sunfire 2200, and I bought it with a car starter already installed on it. It's an aftermarket Coolstart system that has been working fine until recently. I will drive it for almost 20 minutes and out of nowhere the "Theft System" light comes on and it won't start after I turn the car off even with the original key for the car. I know it has the Passlock system on it and I'm aware that it has a relay that bypasses this system. So the only conclusion that I can come up with is that the relay is bad. Am I right to assume this? Or could it be something else that needs some attention? Thanks in advance for the help.
*P.S.- If you have nothing helpful to say; your post isn't welcome here. So keep your hate filled comments to yourself and remember "Just say no to Douchebaggery."
Either one of two things is going on. The ground at your engine (it's the ground that is between your engine and transmission) is loose, or you have a bypass module starting to go bad. It's not just a relay, it saves the resistance code that the tumbler makes.
Your car may do 13 sec @ 103 mph, but my car does 146db @ 35 hz.
Oh, that sounds easy enough to fix. Thanks a lot for the help, Lanman31337.
