So in lookin for an amp to power my 15BTL . Its callin for atleast 3k rms. Only trick is I need it at 2 ohms. I checked out a website that sells sundown and they have a saz3000.1d refurished with a new style heatsink for 555 . Good buy? Mainly aiming this towards sundownfire and lanman. Not you Anton lol

And also just for reference. Sit down and do the math. Do you realize what your electrical system needs in order for an amp to ACTUALLY be able to put out 3K watts of power? You will likely never see that kind of power on even a slightly modified J body electrical system.

Well my ultimate end goal is to be running 2 15 BTLs on 6- 8 k watts so um yeah I'm already planning two h.o. Alts, atleast one spare yellow top(or something similar) and the big 3 with 1/0 gauge. Ya know what they say, go big or go home right?

ill be getting a dc power alt (260 amp iirc) and the biggest kinetic battery i can fit under the hood (damn db drag rules) with modifications to the battery pan of course

Dont touch that amp until you upgrade your alt and battery. The amperage draw will drain whatever you have for stock stuff.
You do realize that that amp only does like 1500 at 2 ohms right?

Yeah I figured that out after mentioning it. I'm running a d1 BTL so I need something in the 2500-4000 watt range at 2 ohms.

Well......... You could just run two 1500 watt amps. One to each coil or strapped.
Or run at half-ohm............ But I wouldnt suggest that since itll void the SA warranty even though the amps will take it if given proper electrical support.

Youre going to be throwing a lot of power at each coil. Just make sure you keep an eye on the sub.
Just strap the amps together and tune for daily and comp. i wouldnt put 4000 wrms on the BTL daily, just sounds bad.

I personally wouldn't even think about buying the amp, before the entire electrical is upgraded. I have some experience with the 1500d, and with full 1/0 wiring and the big 3 done in 1/0, the voltage drops were VERY obvious.
Why not run just one BTL, they are ridiculously loud in the first place. And yes, db-r.com is the best place you will find to buy ANY sundown amp. Comes with a warranty and it is professionally refurbished.
Another option would be to run two of the BL subs, those are loud and won't be as power hungry. I had one in my car and it was insanely loud.
Just hold onto your money and do it right.
Apparently none of you have dealt with Jacob from Sundown directly. He has refurbs himself. And the shipping is faster than with dB-r. Ive dealt with both and I would go through Jacob unless dB-r was running a special like they do sometimes. Just keep an eye on the SA boards on SSA or SMD. Jacob had 6 or 7 used 3500D for like 550 awhile back.

Even though they were 18s they still have the same power rating,4k is towards the top end of the spectrum but still safe. And for all that kee talkin about the electrical, I know the car is gonna need a complete overhaul for this system but I'm in the process of gettin a newer vehicle. In just tryin to get the sub amp box and wiring all purchased BEFORE I go broke in a vehicle. And trist me, when in done with the electriical on the car, you'll be able to run a damn 4 bedroom house off it. And sundownfire how can I get ahold Jacob?

actually steave meade was running a total of 20,000 watts, meaning mids highs and sub amps. so no he was not running 5k per BTL. not to put you down or anything, but he knew exactly what he was doing with new amps before he got his smd subs, its not like he is bumping around with 5kwrms all the time. he only does that for vids, or competition style exhibitioning. and the new smd subs must be beasts! i kinda want to get one to see what they are like. i mean 2 motors and split voice coil!?!!!?!?!!!! @!#$ must be insane!

But he rebuilt his Tahoe for 30k watts. Which does mean he is putting like 5k to each sub just FYI
