as of 2010.
does any company have for a 2005 LSS.
a wiring harness that will allow the radio to
stay on till u open the door/ or for the 10 minutes
and have chimes, and all that?
from what im reading, they just have the chimes.
and what part number would i need to keep the chimes?
no store knows, and in the sticky for 2000+ radios, the link provided
still says u have to keep the stock radio, or no chimes....
i heard the metar one has a speaker on it, while the shoche u have to hook a speaker??
so i think i want the metra one.
so if someone could gimme a PN that would be sweet!
and if there is one with a option for the keeping the radio on for 10 min that would be great!
....the one in my 2000 didnt have the chimes...i got the cheap one...but my friend just bought
a 2005 LSS sedan, and he wants the chimes, and the radio on untill u open the door options!
he also has the when u speed up, it gets louder option...is that what is called the RDS?
he wants to keep that too!
...im so glad i had the base model. it was so cheap/easy.
The radio on until the door opens stays with the car. The RDS is built into the radio. If he wants chimes, tell him to get the 30 dollar or so scosche harness. Base/LSS/whatever, it doesn't matter, 2000+ radio setups are all the same.
Your car may do 13 sec @ 103 mph, but my car does 146db @ 35 hz.
The RDS is built into the factory radio, unless he puts in a nav unit, it wont be an option. Thats the Radio Data System. Not sure on the variable automatic volume controller, that might be specific to the factory radio too.
I've been thinking about this too for when I swap out my deck... there is a way to do it, you just need to trick the accessory into thinking its still on... a timer, door switch override and reset. When I get closer to actually getting a new deck, I am gonna go to cables and connectors and see if I can't solder something up...
Mine stays on like you want and all i did was buy the harness that allows you to keep the chimes. I didnt do anything special.
