Lighter/power port not working
Wednesday, April 14, 2010 5:06 PM
My kid's 04 Sunfire has the two power ports and neither one works.

I took a look at the fuses, but they seem fine.

As an additional bit of information, the car still has the factory radio in it, but the rear speakers work very infrequently, like the connector is bad.

We bought the car off of a used car lot, I wonder if someone had an aftermarket radio in the car and slammed the factory one back in to sell the car.

Any chance that the connectors for the power ports are near the connectors for the factory radio in these cars?

I'm trying to figure out where to start looking...

Thanks in advance

Check the fuse with a continuity meter. I don't think any wires run back there. Maybe yank the radio out and see if someone messed with some of the wiring?

Your car may do 13 sec @ 103 mph, but my car does 146db @ 35 hz.
