Easy amp question
Friday, April 23, 2010 7:42 PM
My amp I think has bit the dust. Just had a quick question.
If the fuse was blown unde the hood, would enough power get by to make the amps power light come on?
Does no power get through at all if the fuse is blown?
The fuse I used(from a Knu koncepts) amp install kit, is one I dont see often so I cant tell if its blown.

If your inline fuse from your battery to your amps blew then you should get no power to your amps.

it's like cutting your cord in half. No more electricity flows.

If the main power fuse is blown the amp will still turn on. The remote wire still signals the amp to turn on but it wont make any noise out of the sub. If you cant tell if its blown just use a DMM to check voltage at the amp. No voltage = blown fuse.

Some amps will turn on with the remote wire only while others will not. Depends on the brand.
