2 weird problems

1st problem: 2 days ago i started my car and my subs wouldn't work (they worked just fine the night before). I disconnected and reconnected all the wiring to the subs and amp....still nothing so i replaced the fuse...still nothing so i gave up on that and went to reach for my dash to check the wires behind the head unit and all the sudden they started working and have worked fine until today. I started the car and they wouldn't work but as soon as i took the car out of reverse and put it in drive they started working again. The car is an automatic if that helps and the amp lights up so it has power even though the subs are not working.

2nd problem: Right after the subs had the problem. I went to start the car that night and the radio wouldn't work(every station was static) so i got out and pulled the antenna off and check it out and put it back out (its a small screw on antenna from advanced auto). Ive never had this problem before except for when i had no antenna at all. Well now ever since the next day, i get in the car and start it and the radio will work just fine for about 5 minutes and then all the stations will be static again.

I'm really confused on what the problem could be. Is it a bad connection on my head unit? Are the problems related? I just don't know.

You or someone who installed your @!#$ didn't wire everything behind the head unit right. Something is loose. That's the only reasonable thing I can see. The wiring behind the head unit is loose and bad.

yeah behind the headunit would be the first place i checked.

also you say your subs dont' work, that can be misleading, the subs could be fine it could be your amp that is the problem. you said it had power. but that doesnt mean the amp is transferring the signal to the subs. or it could be that the amps not get a signal from the headunit, so the amp could be fine, the sub could be fine but the head unit is the problem.

I took the headunit out and checked all the wiring and everything is plugged in and its all in tight so i still dont know what the problem is. What exactly should i look at and/or look for?

your signal wires (rca's). Definitely make sure they are good.

if all yoru wiring is good and your absolutly positive its good then id say theres a good chance your radio is screwing up. you could take it, hook it up in a buddies car that has good wiring and if it still does it you know its the radio.
