If you build each box exactly like the other and keep the subs near each other, I don't see an issue. But a sealed box and a ported box? @!#$ no. Anton STFU now! hey im in the testing mood. if you dont absolutely 100% know whether or not it will work then why not try it? if i ever have 2 of the exact same sub ill try it and see if i cant prove you wrong. hell i mean if firing my box sideways gains me almost 1 db on the meter why wouldnt this work! lol. but i did say its a bad idea to begin my post....

Ya see there are so many factors that change. That's why this doesn't count as one of those "it MIGHT work" ideas. No it WONT work. Each sub will be reacting completely different. It's a fact. Plain as day. Cut and dry. Just shut up.

I think it should so the other way. You prove it will work. Since frankly everything Ive ever heard about mixing subs and enclosures has been bad.

sndsgood wrote:how does something get louder? you double the output at a certain freqnecy (2 subs versus 1) and the sound increases. so now you have one ported sub that peaks at one freqncy and a sealed box that peaks at another frequency and your not doubling your output so you lose spl. now sound. you could adjust it with an eq possibly to sound decent. but with diffrent peak points and diffrent rolloff points its just not going to sound very good.
if you allready feel 1 sub will be enough build two sepearte boxes if you want the box building experience and try each one out to find the one you like best and then just sell the other. don't bother running 2 if you dont want 2 to begin with.
