Do i need a specific dash kit if i want the radio mounted on the bottom and the filler on the top? (01) or would my current dash kitwork and i could just flip it around?

I don't think it would be a problem by flipping it with the current dash kit, but the deck it self might not sit properly. Plus, i've never seen a kit with the filler on the top. I think a friend of mine flipped his in his car like that at one point.

Hmm. I haven't tried this, but the mounts are different on the left and right sides. I don't think it'll work.
meh well ill try, drill some new holes if i must. i just wanna be able to run the wire through it so they have more room and arent cramed in the back. and would like to use my upper vents.
