i don't really want to drill holes and bolt it to my trunk
what other options do i have??
l-brackets and self tappers? it would still leave a hole tho...
i guess what size of equipment are we talking about here? i secured my old mtx 5500 12 down with double sided tape, and secured a buddy of mines box down with some velcro as well, it wasnt heavy equipment so we could get away with it... the Velcro worked great though!

the large plastic side of vel-cro on the bottom of your box. OR, those non-slip drawer liners cut to the shape/size of your box.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.
Liquor is not a drug John, liquor is not a drug.
Bracket across the top bolted to the strut mounts if you wanna get real fancy and not screw thru the floor.
Your car may do 13 sec @ 103 mph, but my car does 146db @ 35 hz.

i've got a 52lb sub and a 35lb box and it still shift around. I doubt it would come flying out at me but it still likes to move around a lot lol.

My box is wide enough that it won't come flying through the back seat, can't fit. So, what I do is I used an L bracket, and screwed one side down into my spare tire lid. Make sure the other end of the L bracket is right up against the box. This basically traps the box between the back seat port, and the bracket.
Not the most sturdy method, but I've never had any problems with it sliding around back there.
i made a L bracket the secures to the front of the box and than to the spare tire mount, it secures there with a nut works great for me and i can still have access to my spare tire
Mines too wide to come through the trunk and the weight and carpet on carpet friction holds it pretty well
velcro sounds ghetto until you try it. i've never had any huge systems, but it always works great for me,
how does it sound ghetto? it works. and you can't see it... I don't get it.

Just an idea:
if you dont care about drillin the upper part of your trunk, you could make a bracket to bolt to the underside of the part where the hinges bolt to? Dont know what thats called specifically, but thats where my cd changer was bolted to when i got it
just drill and tap a few holes....
i've went with velcro.. used 2 2'' strips .. that froze the sub tight.. there's no moving it ..
