I just bought my first 2 door Cavalier and I kno that 2 doors n 4 doors don't matter when it comes to size n space but I was wondering about how much sound mat would I need to cover just about my whole car? In my 4 door because of tha urthane engine mounts and subs most of tha car still rattled so I don't wanna make tha same mistake twice.

If cutting rattles down in most of the car is the goal, and you have a 4 door, I would strip the interior, give it all one layer of Second Skin Damplifier pro, then any problem areas left focus on from there. I think starting with just a bulk pack would be good.

well right now tha car is stock except for tha rims, it's pretty smooth right now other than some road noise, so its tough finding vibrations, I'll probably use tha sub n amps from tha last car, and I kno for sure I'll most likely get as many urethane bushings n mounts as possible which means mad vibrations, so 100 sq. ft. sounds good to me but do ya'll have a certain brand or it all works tha same as long as its extreme or pro cuz where I'm at all I see is Dynamat, but i'll probably go wit ebay, prices in Halifax are ridiculous for 100 sq feet .

Honestly, if it comes on a roll, it's a relative of a roofing product. The real dedicated sound dampening companies do a LOT of R&D to make their products the absolute best. The are made specifically for in-car use, don't smell, and work better than anything that comes on a roll. I don't care what the cheap asses say, I've been doing this a long time. I have seen cars with roofing product, seen cars and even installed eDead and others like it. I can confidently say that Cascade VB and Second Skin Damplifier Pro are the only 2 dampening mats I will EVER use on my own, or a customers vehicle.
With that said, you're best bet would be to go to SecondSkinAudio.com and buy a bulk pack or 2. One layer on everything and MAYBE some double on trouble spots should suffice. Sorry Jason, but I VERY much disagree with the layering of dampening mat throughout the vehicle. You went way overkill lol. DAMPENING MAT IS NOT A SOUND BARRIER. It is there to eliminate vibrations, period. If you do 1 layer, you now have a mass loader and constraining layer on everything. Doubling the product DOES NOT double it's effectiveness. Not even close to double. It gets very expensive to do that. Do 1 layer on everything, even focus on sealing up access holes in the doors that will have speakers in them. Make sure to do a layer on the inner and out door skins.
If you want to eliminate road noise and other noise issues not related to panel resonance, get a sound barrier product like Second Skin's Luxury Liner Pro. That stuff works amazingly.
To recap: Dampening mat is NOT a noise barrier. Double layering it does NOT double it's effectiveness. The good stuff isn't cheap, and the cheap stuff isn't good.

anthing added between you and the noise is a noise barrier. the question is the effectiveness. and i will tell you in the doors if your running speakers there sealing the holes does have an effect on the sound output. so it can work as a sound barrier. is two layers as good as two layers of second skin. nope probalby not. but i did three layers
over 300 sq. ft. for under 300 bucks. if a panel vibrates and adding 1 layer doesnt stop the vibration. 2 or 3 layers might, and our door panels are about as thick as pop cans. so overkill it was. i started out with the plan to compete so overkill was always nessicary. and what i used wasn't roofing material either though. the roofing stuff i agree is junk. what i used was basically the same thing as what dynamat was putting out. but only about 75% as thick. remember this was also like 8 years ago.
