Speaker trouble

Hello everyone I have a 99 Pontiac Sunfire GT 5 speed
Just got the car a little while ago and 2/4 of my speakers aren't working. One up front works and one in the back works. More specifically the front passenger works and the front driver side doesn't., the rear driver side works while the rear passenger side speaker doesn't. Originally i thought it was just the driver side front speaker that wasn't working, so i bought a new set of 4x6s to replace it but it still isnt working.

Any thoughts on this, are maybe the factory head unit outputs bad? It is the cd player with the Eq sliders on the front, steering wheel controls work fine as with everything else in the car.. i was thinking on just shelling out the money to buy a aftermarket Head-unit in an attempt to correct the problem, but i would rather keep the steering wheel controls.

Any ideas??

one of two things, bad radio. bad wiring. You already swapped one of the front so you know that the speakers in the front weren't the problem. To test the back switch the rears with each other and see if the problem moves over to the other side. If it does bad speaker. If it doesn't then either wirign or radio. My suggestion just change the radio.

Good idea for the rears thanks.. i went out a bought a new deck tonight, installing it tomorrow. If only i had a multimeter handy. With the new deck at least i can easily run new wires if need be, but thats worst case scenario.

OK so turns out one of the rear speakers were bad, and the front speaker had bad wiring. I had to run new wires from the front speaker to the head unit.
I had to hit the wrecker for a new/used rear speaker for $10 cash

haha nice. So now you know what was causing the issues, time to save up and upgrade everything anyway lol
