ERROR messege on Speedo
Tuesday, September 07, 2010 2:03 PM
So on Sunday, the girl and I went to leave the bowling alley, and the car was dead. She left the lights on. 2002 Cav sedan with the 2200, and 170K on the clock. 100% stock except the headunit and sub, and an amp. Well no biggie, we get it jumped and it fires right up. I let it idle for a few to make sure everything was ok. Well upon startup, the "service" light stayed on, and the ERROR showed in the milage area. Kinda worried me at first, and we drove home with it like that. Well the next day, I disconnected the battery for a few minutes, and the lights and messege went away. Do I have anything to worry about? I know that it has happened to a buddy of mine before on his eco, and they told him the BCM was bad? I don't know a whole lot about the 2200, as I have only had it for a few weeks.

I'd drive it for a few weeks and if it comes back, then you have an issue. These new cars do all kinds of crazy stuff when the voltage drops too low. I've seen dashes go completely NUTS while the alt was dying.

It just had a hiccup with the jump start. Since voltage was next to nil, that would have cause your speedometer and idiot lights to freak out. Resetting the bcm/ecm by battery disconnect fixed your problem. If it was a bad bcm, it wouldn't have reset.
