Hey
so a friend of mine wants to put a stereo in his tractor, but doesnt want/have room for speakers. my question for you is can i hook a headphone jack directly to the front left and right speaker wires?
thanks
How about an MP3 player? Sounds like a reasonable solution.....

i suggested that but he wants the stereo installed. if anyone knows for sure, it would really help me out.
Perhaps a headphone y adapter to RCA?
^^^That would work nicely.
He wants an installed stereo so he can listen to tunes with headphones?
I can understand it. Tractors suck for speakers. Nowhere to mount them and the drone would drown out the music. The battery on my iPod only lasts for like 4 hours and my uncles can be in a field for up to 8 hours so it makes more sense to me to have a set radio that is with the tractor that you dont have to worry about dropping or breaking or charging.
he has hearing problems and can hear with headphones better than with speakers plus the background noise doesnt help. his stereo doesnt have RCA out, so what i was thinking was to strip off the RCA ends and wire it to the speaker wires, but i wasnt sure if the resistance/power would work out or if it would just blow the headphones.
Does he already have a stereo and you just want a way to use headphones?

Easy bro, it's going on a tractor, not a car.
