so who on here thinks he's got the best sound system SQL and SPL wise?
let's see/hear your setups..
This is all subjective. You talking current or present because nothing here is @!#$ compared to some older members.
that is soooooooooooooooooooooo subjective it isnt funny.
i have the best... no, i have the best, no... jl audio has the best. no this is JBO, i know drama.

by "the best" i mean top names in sound industry and any additional electrical upgrades performed..
would be nice to see some install pics too..
My @!#$ is the best.
Door components only ftw.

I would say as of now Anton is hitting low 150s. But Nate was doing mid 150s the last I remember. Idk what Lanmans car is going to do.
As far as SQ sndsgood, Bradsk88, and Jason Burten all have reall nice systems. Havent heard any of them.
My car is working on SQ. On paper I have some nice gear I just suck at tuning. Thats why this is subjective. Good equipment doesnt always mean a quality install.

This is truth from the pics Jeff has texted me and from what I have heard on the phone. I may have to make the trip out there just to hear it.

Ok, when you go to one of those competitions how do you they measure SQ exactly?
USACi SQ comps are part Judges ears, and part install. The install has a LOT to do with it, and I doubt anyone on here builds them like some of the winners I've seen.

JL, got a link to any of the winners and their builds/systems?
Will try

there are 3 cavaliers around me hitting 150 plus, we got kyle dykstra 151+ 1 18" xcon, matt schramm 150+ 2 12" treos, and me 150+ 2 12" sa-12's. but in the world? there are true trunk setups out of cavs doing 155's+, mr sears with one 15" sub seat up was a 153+, i mean there are so many loud ass cavaliers out there it isnt even funny, it considered the cheater car for trunk classes, like a crx with a trunk, right along with the honda civic 2 door.
i dont understand this thread... lol
click sig for my car audio videos
Here's a pretty neat DD build I found:

Fairly simple and basic. Still trying to find some pics and such of some of the nicer one's I've seen. My buddy's old shop had an award winning Accord, but it's been so many years I don't even remember how to search for it lol.

If THAT over the top show/get stupid loud truck full of *cringe* Kicker stuff, all installed all flashy like that is the best SQ vehicle you've ever seen, you don't have a good grasp on what wins SQ comps...... Seriously. EW

wow dustin, personally... i think some of the ideas/work with that porshe are @!#$. no offence.
ill start with the head unit... its a single din in what looks as massive as a 3 din size. looks like crap IMO. make the bezel same size as the deck? get a bigger deck? something... a bunch of un-used space looks like crap.
and the enclosure in the passenger side area? ok stock does it but come on, its a bad idea. takes away foot space as well as looks for function over form. which the customer pretty much requested form. get crafty... mount the sub under the dash, under a seat, in the 'trunk' bay or @!#$.. something?! get it the hell out of the way of people's feet for god's sake.
edited..
ill give credit where credit is due, if not for those two things the install is top notch holy ballsack amazing. i LOVE the tweeter pods with the carbon material... badass.

You realize what that head unit cost? What it's built for? As well as the seas components, and that sub placement.... you even know who Zapco is? I'm wililng to bet that "@!#$" stereo setup that BARELY takes any foot room away(your biggest gripe it seems), sounds better and more well staged/setup/tuned than anything you have personally auditioned.....

i think the porsche looks great..only things i did not care for were the Carbon wraped tweeters,All the work that was done the should have been wraped in leather and dyed..
And I am hoping he used Medix on the speaker mounts for the doors to help from rotting,Thoses cars like to get watter on and near the door speakers..And my only other pick about it was the crap load of screws used to hold the speaker in place..But other than that looks great..
Here is a link to the shop I uesed to work at...The first 3 cars I had a chance to do some of the work mostley all the wiring in them,And we had some great custom installers there.

If you can live with the awkward and "just kinda sitting there" look of that center setup on the dash of the BMW, I can live with the 3M carbon wrap on the tweeters in the Porsche lol.

Give me to spring when I finish my system. Mostly comprised of hertz/audison equipment. should be getting my audison bit one shortly.
I agree this is super subjective, especially since I've never actually
heard anyone's stereos from the org.
Of course I think my stereo sounds amazing, but that's because I've put in 200+ hours tweaking it to get just the sound that I like. I've never put it in front of a judge's ears.
Hopefully after the new Alpine stuff is in I'll be confident enough to compete

so since it costs a bunch of money it gets to look like crap? mmmmmmmk.
you mistook what i said (like usual) i said, and i quote....
z yaaaa wrote:i think some of the ideas/work with that porshe are @!#$.
some means SOME, not the whole system.
again, since its gods gift to audio it gets a pass to be placed in an annoying area that takes away floor space?
and i love how since i disagreed with you i get the 'you dont know crap and havent heard crap' statement. how can you even assume such a thing? you barely know me.
