Depends what you are looking for over all, and which line you are looking at? Since they have been sold to Maxxsonics, they aren't what they used to be, but they still make some half decent stuff. What are you looking to do, in detail, and what's the budget? Might be able to get you some insight on them, as well as other options to look into that might even fit you better.

well i can get either a 12 or 15 inch sub from the reference or premium series, maybe you could tell me which size would be better to go with, and if i should get a sealed or ported box. im smarted enough to see the primium series is a bit better and i can afford it so i suppose id be going with that unless you say otherwise haha. im not really sure what kind of amp i should get with it though. both are 2 Ohm. the premium is 1600 watts max 800 RMS watts.

As far as size and box... well what kind of sound are you going for? and a dual 2ohm sub can be wired down to 1 ohm, so finding power for it should be reasonable in price. 800 RMS at 1 ohm isn't expensive to come by these days.

i really dont want to have over powering bass that drowns out the rest of the music. i would rather have great sound quality. I also don't mind pissing of the school security every morning going to school if you know what i mean haha. if one twelve gives me the best of both worlds then great. and sorry but can you tell me about wiring dual 2 Ohm subs down to one. im not sure how.

there are numerous diagrams on the net. go to jlaudio.com and they have a nice one. I would think a single 12 in a ported box might be something you are looking for without breaking the bank.

To wire it down to one ohm if I'm not mistaken you take the positive coming off the amp to a positive on the sub and then running a wire from that positive to the other one. Then take the negative off the amp to a negative on the sub then running a wire to the other negative. Just got to run them in a parallel. Thats how you wire a dual 4 ohm to 2 ohm, so it should be the same for a dual 2 ohm to 1 ohm.

ive been running mb quart for the last 10 years or so. good speakers. but as jl said they have been bought out. actually they have been bought out a few times and im just not sure how much influence new owners have had in how they run there business. amp are something they havnt been making for that long and im thinking they were made under a new owner so likely it was whoevers amps that owned them at the time rebranded with mb quarts name. for amps your likely to find better or same quality for a better price. as for subs they are probably still geared heavily towards sq so they wont have the boom of your average 12 on the market. but they should stil sound pretty clean when it comes to accuracy. if the premium is out of yoru price range. id get the price range of the refrence and see what else is in your pricerange to compare.

I've heard a few single premium 12"s. Definitely geared for sq. If you're looking to hit like crazy, look somewhere else. On the flip side, they were pretty clean and tight even in a ported enclosure. Also, I have their 4-channel discuss amp. Runs decent, but could be better.
