I'm looking for a little more bass up front has anyone used slim 8s in out doors? Rights now I have cdt 61/2 comp sets in the door and 51/2 in the kicks but they don't have alot of midbass.
Is your door sealed up? 6.5 will be more than adequate for midbass.
I like a little more bass up front then most plus the cdt cl miss lace is midbass
I mean the cdt mid range lack in mid bass
This is my issue too. I want some SERIOUS low end bass guitar up front. I'm definitely listening. I considered getting some 6.5" midbass drivers and the kicks to put them in, but I dunno... I'm worried about time alignment and losing that footroom, etc.

I dont really see 8s fitting very well unless you build a door pod or something into the door panel to make room. Im running into issues with my Rainbow 6.5s being too deep for out doors.
It may very well be a possibility that the two different types of speakers up front are causing cancellation. Ever listened to the sets separate?
You never answered whether your doors are sealed up or not. It's hard to have mid bass with cancellation.
The inner and outer doors has 2 layers of brown bread SD when they where put in, they are the same crossovers and "type" one just a 51/4 and ones a 61/2. I also have a little over 700 Watts going to my front stage with no rears.
Oh and like I said the cdt Cl mids have no mid bass, so yea they sound the same with just the doors hooked up
your definatly going to have to build out from the door for 8's menetti is running 8's i think. i contemplated it. if i had power windows i problaby would have. yeah ill build a full custom dash but to lazy to switch to power windows go figure. its just going to take allot of damping in our doors. those things are like aluminum cans. id probalby double up at least on your damping, maybe consider clay in the bottom of the doors to beef them up. anything you can do to get that door as solid as possible. because 8's with some decent power is going to do some damage lol.

Sounds like you could glass your doors.... but then there would be the issue of transferring to power windows. That would be the only thing I could think of.
